Peel Road's Famous Delights
Hunny brought me to eat lovely Satay and Ah Wah Grilled Chicken wings for dinner last night at Restaurant Queens. We also had fresh sugarcane and coconut, hokkien bihun, chinese salty nasi lemak, satay and chicken wings.
1. 4 chicken wings for RM7.50;
2. Hokkien Bihun for RM6 and the prawns were big, sweet and fresh but otherwise pretty tasteless as the noodles lack the "wok hei"
3. Sambal to go with the Hokkien Bihun
4. Nasi Lemak with Sambal Ikan Bilis, Chicken Curry, Curry potatoes, Luncheon Meat and Long beans was RM5.50 but it was abit too salty for my liking.
5. Satay was RM0.60 per stick and the peanut sauce was so so yummy..thick and peanuty
6. The Famous Ah Wah Grilled Chicken Wings Stall
7. Manyak Chicken Wings
8. Tengah Grilling
9. The Busy Satay Stall
10. Hot Fire flaming and the satay are being cooked.
Sugarcane and coconut juice was RM1.50 per glass.Very cool and refreshing with no additional syrup. When you are there, I recommend that you sit outside so that you can order food from the non-halal stalls outside. The inside restaurant only caters for halal eaters.
We over ordered this round and ended up take away the satay. The satay today when reheated was still yummy. The peanut sauce and the succulent chicken pieces are indeed going to make it a repeat visit to this restaurant. However, Hunny and I would prefer if we go with other friends in order to enjoy the food more.I would certainly want to visit this place again as they food is really yummy and my fellow shutterasia.com members also recommended the mixed part beef noodles and mutton soup are also very yummy.
